51-Target Beauty Box

April 22, 2014

I received this about a month ago and have been meaning to post about it for weeks, but you know, life and stuff. Anyway, I don't have time for a proper post, so here are some pictures.:)

Contents of the box:
  • TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray (2.5 fl oz)
  •  L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara (.22 fl oz)
  • Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo (1.7 oz)
  • COVERGIRL Smoochies Sizzle Gloss (.44 fl oz)
  • Jergens BB Cream Light (2 fl oz)
I have not tried any of these things yet, and I already gave the lip gloss away, but I am excited to use the mascara. Overall, I am happy with this box and definitely feel it was worth $5. :)

50-Happies & Crappies

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies:

- The weather. It has been so nice (and warm) this week and I've been able to take Carly on daily walks.:)
- I made an A on my fourth grad class. I really am surprised because I have so little time and motivation lately.
- On that note, I've had this whole week off from school and have done nothing productive. It's been great, lol.
- I'm back to blogging! I love to post random stuff that no one in real life wants to listen to, lol.

Crappies:

- My wisdom tooth is coming out (again!) and it hurts so much.:/
- Carly goes to sleep late and I am up by 6:30 a.m. so I am sleep deprived.:/
- My class starts on Sunday. This isn't really crappy; I'm just not feeling school right now.
- I love being able to stay at home right now that Carly is so little, but jeez is it boring when she's asleep!

49-Random Thursday: Movies I hate to admit I loved

February 20, 2014

http://www.linnysvault.com/

I'm back! I'm not actually embarrassed that I love these movies. In fact, I had a really hard time paring this list down.

Mean Girls
I LOVE this movie! There are so many great quotes (which I say irl all the time) and Rachel McAdams is great in the role of Regina.

I say this to my kids ALL the time, lol.

Little Black Book
Brittany Murphy is one of my favorite actresses and I love all of her movies, but this one has Carly Simon's music in it, which I also love (and should probably also be embarrassed about).

Labyrinth
I grew up watching this and still love it. I even force my kids to watch it.

Troop Beverly Hills
Another movie I grew up watching. I didn't even realize that Jenny Lewis is in it, but I love her music.:)

She's Out of Control
Can you tell I love 80's movies? This one is fun and funny and probably every dad's worst nightmare, lol.

Meet the Robinsons
I like many cartoon movies, but this is one that I watched as an adult. I love the message in this movie; it's very heart warming. And I may or may not have cried during it.;)

Nacho Libre
I'm beginning to realize that I quote a lot of movies irl. Yes, this is another one, lol.

Malibu's Most Wanted
This is the one I should probably be most embarrassed about, but I love it. There are so many great quotes (which I also use irl) and it is so funny.

So, what embarrassing movies do y'all love?

48-2013 reflections

January 15, 2014

I'm back! I have lots to update about, but I want to post this first.:)

Favorite Makeup: Concealer. Pregnancy made my under eye circles worse and all I really tried to do was not look like I got punched in the eyes, lol.

Favorite Book:I read so many good books this year. I can't choose just one (who can?), so top five (ok, so it's really seven. Whatever):

The Hunger Games Trilogy-
Skipping a Beat-
The Opposite of Love-
Night-Elie Wiesel
Favorite Song/Album: Don't judge me, lol.

Favorite Movie: I don’t watch a lot of movies (and I don't even remember all of them), but I have to choose Fast and Furious 6. I don't want to spoil it, but let me just say: Letty and Dom!

One thing you're grateful for: My family. My kids and boyfriend are the best.♥

Greatest Challenge: 2013 was actually a really good year for me. Yeah, there were moments when I freaked out, but overall life was good. :)

What are you looking forward to in 2013: Driving, watching my kids grow, doing well in school, spending time with my family, and getting married(!).

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies:

- There are two weeks left in my class, then I'm on break til Jan. 20th.
- I ordered myself a x-mas present, which I've been wanting for a very long time.
- I've read 42 (out of 50) books for my good reads challenge. Almost done!
- I've managed to cross off quite a few things on my weekly to-do list.

Crappies:

- I've been to the doctor/hospital three times this week and still no baby!
- I haven't been able to get a hold of my adviser, so I am still not registered for spring semester.
- It is supposed to be cold and rainy all weekend.
- The order for my breast pump is still pending.
- Oh, and my laptop is completely dead.:/

46-Random Thursday: Books Everyone Should Read

December 5, 2013

I've had such a busy day, but still no baby.:/ Ugh. Anyway, I have a bunch of posts planned for this blog, but today I am doing this:

If you hadn't noticed, I love books so this is the perfect prompt for me. Here we go. :)

So, what books do you think everyone should read?

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies:

- I have one class left for this semester and (so far) my grades are good.
- On that note, I switched to on-campus classes for spring semester.
- I am officially a stay at home mom (as of Tuesday).
- I have everything I need for the baby (including a name).
- I've decided to breastfeed.
- My oldest daughter will be 13 on the 27th (wth?).
- My credit score changed from poor to fair.

Crappies:

- Being a stay at home mom means I won't have (my own) money.:(
- The weather is crap today.
- I'm not used to being at home all alone. It's super boring.

44-Update

October 15, 2013

So, since the last time I did a (real) update:
  •  I finally graduated with my Bachelor degree! I loved my program (I even won an award for most promising student, lol) and miss my classes, but I am so happy to be done.:)

  • On that note, I began a Master degree in August. The program I am taking is for Clinical Mental Health Counseling and it’s at the same school I just graduated from. I am in the online program, but want to switch over to the on-campus one.
  • I began a new reading challenge for 2013. My goal is (still) 50 books and I was doing well until around August. Since then, I’ve read like one book and I just cannot get back into reading.
  •  I have two children in middle school (seriously), a third grader, one in pre-k, AND one on the way (I’m due on November 30th and am super excited!).
  • I turned 30! My b-day was on a Thursday, so I had to work, but bf bought me a cake and the kids sang to me. I also bought myself a laptop and received it that day, so it was a good one.

I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff, but that’s all I can think of for now.  I’ve missed blogging and am going to try and post more.

43-Paradise

September 17, 2013

Remember when I used to blog all the time? Yeah, me either. Anyway, it's been months and tons of things have happened, but I'll save that for another time.

Today's post is going to be about something I received in the mail: The Influenster  Paradise Voxbox. Here's what was inside:

Olay Fresh Effects Shine Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser - $6.99
This is my current face wash and I really like it so far. I only use it at night and the tiniest amount removes all of my makeup in one try. Also, it's very creamy, so my skin doesn't feel dry afterwards.

NYC New York Color Sparkle Eye Dust Eye Shadow in Smokey Topaz - $2.99
I have not actually tried this product, but it does look pretty cool. I usually only use one eyeshadow when I do my makeup (what can I say, I like easy) and I'll probably be switching to this one pretty soon.

Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles - $10.99
Another product I have not tried because I am not a heel wearer. I may try to use these with some flats I have or give them to one of my sisters.

Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil - $5.98 (3 oz.)
This is one product that I am excited to try out. I’m still trying to get through two other styling oils I currently own (that don’t really do anything for my hair, but I can’t make myself get rid of), so it will be a while before I get to this.

Goody TangleFix - $7.99
I use this for my daughter (who hates to have her hair brushed) and she loves it. I love the fact that I don’t have to listen to her scream every time I brush her hair, lol.

Ok, that is all for now. I am going to try really hard to keep up with this blog from now on.:)

42-Sugar & Spice

April 3, 2013

Guess who (finally) got a VoxBox? :) I've received a couple of things from Influenster before (dish washing liquid and teeth whitening strips), but earlier this month I got the Sugar ‘n Spice VoxBox. You guys, I love free stuff, so I was super excited about this.:)

So, let's get to the good stuff. In my box, I received the following products:

Vaseline® Spray & Go Moisturizer Total Moisture® ($7.99 for 6.5 oz. can)
I have not tried this product yet, but I am curious to see how it works. I hope it absorbs faster than regular lotion.

NECTRESSE™ ($6.99 for 5.9 oz container, or $3.99 for box of 40 packets)
I have to be honest. I gave this to bf's mom because I don't do artificial sweeteners. Call me crazy, but there's just something about them. Plus, I think they taste weird.

Dickinson’s® Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes ($5.99 for a 20-count box)
Another product I have not tried, but only because I am saving them for summer. I live in Texas, so these are going to be super handy.

Colgate® Optic White® Regimen: Toothpaste ($2.99 for 4oz tube), Mouthwash ($2.99 for 8oz bottle), & Toothbrush ($2.99 per brush)
I totally needed a new toothbrush and this is the exact one I buy, so that was cool.:) I have used the toothpaste and mouthwash and they're ok, but I can't say I've noticed my teeth looking whiter.

belVita Breakfast Biscuits ($3.69 for a box of 5 packets of 4 biscuits)
I did try this and it was pretty tasty. In fact, I think it tastes just like graham crackers, which everyone likes. Right? Right.

So, there you have it. :)
