28-Books I Read in June

August 1, 2012

  1. The Lacuna-Barbara Kingsolver
  2. Shadow Tag-Louise Erdrich
  3. Treacherous Love: The Diary of An Anonymous Teenager-Beatrice Sparks
  4. The Mother Daughter Book Club (Book 1)-Heather Vogel Frederick
  5. How Not To Be Popular-Jennifer Ziegler
My favorite book for this month was #1. This is one of those journal-style (or diary) books (and we know how much I love this type of book), but not only that: it is set in Mexico (another thing I love) and it includes a lot of historical characters and certain issues which I think are relevant even today. I will admit that it took me a while to read this book, as some parts are kind of slow, and it is not one of those happily-ever-after books, but I enjoyed it very much.
Another book I have to mention is #2. This is also a journal-style book, but it turned out completely different than I anticipated. I won't get into it, because I don't want to ruin the surprise, so let me just say this: I thought I would really like this book, but the ending was so unexpected and now I can't decide how I feel about it. o_O
